November 30, 2021 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized an amendment to an agreement for professional engineering services in the amount of $300,000 for additional engineering analyses.
October 2021 - The channel erosion evaluation is complete and the recommended erosion spot repairs have progressed to the next phase for further considerations. Erosion spot repairs are localized repairs along a channel within Flood Control District right-of-way that are deemed critical. The task to determine potential flood risk reduction measures is still ongoing and is expected to be complete by summer 2022.
September 2020 – Areas impacted by flooding have been verified and causes of flooding have been identified. Channel erosion was observed, categorized, and documented following a detailed field reconnaissance. Pipelines have been surveyed and incorporated into the study models to evaluate their potential impact on channel drainage. This concluded the existing conditions analysis.
April 7, 2020 - Harris County Commissioners Court authorized $550,000 for engineering services for a feasibility study for this project.
January 7, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized negotiations with an engineering firm for a feasibility study in support of this project.
December 17, 2019 - Harris County Commissioners Court authorized and initiated this project, beginning with a feasibility study.
