Several inches of rain across southeast Texas over the last several days may cause minor flooding impacts to low-lying areas near the East and West forks of the San Jacinto River through the weekend.
East Fork San Jacinto River:
Minor flooding is likely at both Plum Grove (FM 2090) and New Caney (FM 1485). Some residents near the river may be cut off in the Plum Grove area because of street flooding. The current West Gulf River Forecast Center projects a peak of 60.60 feet near FM 1485, which may impact FM 1485 Sunday morning.
West Fork San Jacinto River:
Minor flooding is expected along the river with mainly impacts to streets and roads. The current West Gulf River Forecast Center projects a peak of 50.10 feet near Humble (US 59) Sunday afternoon. Streets along Lake Point Drive in the Northshore subdivision and Belleau Woods subdivision may be impacted through Sunday evening.
All other watersheds in Harris County are below their banks and draining out, with the exception of the upper end of Cypress Creek at Sharp Road, which is expected to be back within banks by early Saturday morning.
