Harris County Receives Grant Award Letter That Will Help Provide Critical Funding for San Jacinto River Watershed Master Drainage Plan

The Harris County Commissioners Court approved a State Award letter in the amount of $2,708,208.00 (Federal $2,031,156.00 | Local $677,052.00) from the Texas Division of Emergency Management to provide necessary funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to complete a comprehensive San Jacinto Watershed Master Drainage Plan. The local match cost will be shared between the San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA), City of Houston, and Montgomery County.

Harris County Flood Control District Project Will Temporarily Close Portion of Us 59 Northbound Frontage Road

A portion of the northbound frontage road of US 59 east of Newcastle Drive will be closed for approximately three weeks beginning on or about February 4, 2019, as the Harris County Flood Control District begins construction to rebuild and partially enclose a poorly functioning drainage ditch. Signs were posted January 21, warning of the upcoming closure of the frontage road on either side of the ditch, formally identified as W129-00-00.

Sign Reimbursement Agreements for Brays, Hunting and White Oak Bayou Projects

The Harris County Flood Control District (Flood Control District) has joined its federal partner, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), in signing amendments to one Project Cooperation Agreement (PCA) and two Project Partnership Agreements (PPAs) for the design and construction of on-going federal flood risk reduction projects along Brays Bayou, Hunting Bayou and White Oak Bayou.
